House Rules

Family Rules Sign

I am a big fan of the recent trend of house rules/motto signs. I think they are clever, sentimental and just plain look neat. My only problem, besides the price, is what would our house rules be? In thinking about it, I can only come up with a few that can stand the test of time. Other than that, here are some, not so sign worthy, rules of the Mann household at the moment:

  • No Choo Choos until after dinner
  • Jack isn’t allowed in the kitchen while Landon eats
  • Paws must be clean upon entering the house
  • Whoever cooks, doesn’t have to do dishes
  • Only ONE thing of toothpaste (I think the child would eat the tube)
  • No hitting
  • No biting
  • No headbutting (sense a theme here?)
  • 3 books before bed
  • No horror movies (yeah I need to get this in writing)
  • Hold hands when in the road
  • No dogs on the furniture
  • Never leave the iPad unattended
  • Always kiss before bed

What would your house rules be?

Note: Barn Owl Primitives doesn’t even have a clue I wrote this.  I ordered another sign from them for Christmas and they were fantastic and I would love to do business with them again.  They have been featured by the Etsy team and boast one heck of a Facebook gallery.  I highly recommend.

The signs are really neat. No roughhousing on the couch is one of mine… but Adam and Maeby don’t listen very well.
