Time for Toddler Dinner Pinspriation

I’ve been in a rut.  I haven’t gone creative in awhile.  I tried to make PB&J sushi today and it was a bust. So I turned to my friend Pinterest for some “pinspiration” and found SO MUCH MORE. I honestly haven’t been on there in awhile but when I have a goal, I always come away happy.  I have also  been getting a lot of new readers from Pinterest land so I thought I would give back to that community too!

Here are some things I found:

  • Toddler Serving Sizes – This is something I knew a little about.  We all think they need more than they really do. Couple of examples: grain serving for 1-3 yr old is 1/4 to 1/2 slice of bread. Raw veggie serving is 1-3 tsp. Meat serving is 1 oz. Apparently my child has not gotten these memos considering he eats more cereal than me but keep this in mind when you are trying to get veggies in them.  They don’t need much.
  • Toddler Dinner Stash Printable – This is a printable to put somewhere in the kitchen to never have to do the pantry dance for “what do we have” while the kid is FREAKING OUT.  I actually do this for dinners in general in our house using an app called Wunderlist. Kevin and I share a list so we always know what we have. Be prepared people.
  • Bento meals – We aren’t in the lunch box stage but I am kinda looking forward to it. This is some fun things to do with meals to make it fun. This can be used now too.  Bring on the creativity!

To check out more of what I found, here is my kid food board. Do you have some awesome pins?

oh em gee with the toddler portions! I didn’t even really think about this, b/c my 2yocan pack the food back better than me some times, but this is super useful for when you are forcing, um, convincing? them to eat more veggies! He already ate one big hunk of broccoli? Ok than, that’s about enough, no need to force, I mean convince him, to eat more. Love it! Totally repinned that!

I know right? I needed that reality check too. My kid eats A LOT. but I also don’t believe in stopping them eating at this age.
