The Little Things

New_glorious_normal.We have been in the new house 2 months now. Every box is unpacked. We have decorated and un decorated for Christmas. We LIVE here now and oh how I love it. Every time I get a chance to stop and take it all in, I just smile.

Yes, we constantly have projects on the brain. But I love that.

Yes, we are still learning where the Legos should go. But I love that.

Yes, we have to sweep the deck every weekend. But I love that too.

We moved into a 1978 house from a 2005 house. It’s a culture shock to say the least. It’s a Pinterest board wet dream. We are learning its curves in the dark. Its creaks and thumps. How to calibrate the climate in the bathroom so as to not freeze upon exit. Which light switch does what and where the spoons are best suited.

I am loving it not through words like “open floor plan” and “stainless steel appliances” but the little things.

Every day, I sit back and notice the little things. I soak it up. I love home.

LOVE this. We are enjoying settling into our new house too and appreciating the little things that our old house didn’t have to offer. Like room to run around inside when it’s snowing and -30*F wind chill outside as this past week has been. Now, I just need to find the time to finish unpacking boxes and finding homes for Legos that are not within arms reach (or climbing reach) of the little man. I look forward to your posts as you continue to make it your home!

Usually it’s the other way around! We moved into an older home and did so because we loved the fact that it was original and not your usual cookie-cutter home!!

Beautiful house! It looks like it has wonderful character. When are you having a big party so we can see it? 😉
