Things I Love – Benetint
Sometimes I am asked what kind of makeup I wear. Truth is, I switch it around a lot but I do have a few staples. One of those is Benetint. This cheek stain is perfect for every complexion. A product originally used for strippers to make other areas more, ahem, “rosey”, Benetint is A) easy to apply and B) a great addition to a quick makeup routine. I have a pretty pale, boring skin tone. I always feel like I need some color. I just do 2 Xs of Benetint on my cheeks and BAM…instant color. I also use it as lip tint when I want some more color there. Then just put on chapstick or gloss.
Now you may say “WHOA that shiz is expensive, B!” and to that I say…yes..BUT it lasts for a LONG time. I wouldn’t be overstating to say you might could go a year with 1 bottle. Especially if you don’t use it everyday. I think I have bought 2 bottles…ever. And I was introduced to it before my wedding in 2005!
Now I am planning to have a makeup vlog at some point when I have time but I did find this lovely Brit giving a tutorial on how to apply it...so enjoy!
I also recommend Benefit as a cosmetic line. I love a lot of their stuff…I just can’t pay department store prices all the time. A few other staples I keep by them are High Beam, Dandelion and plum mascara (i’m out…and poor).
See..this was a Benefit counter creation. Love them so much I went to the mall ON MY WEDDING DAY to get them to do it.
Is there a Benefit counter locally? Or – how do you know what to order online – like how do I guess what shade I am, etc? I feel like I am darker toned than you – but I really have no clue… it looks like nice stuff and you always have pretty skin!
All the dept stores carry it and Ulta now does! But it is just one shade. It is magical and just works for everyone. Just start with a little and add more. That video does a good job explaining it. And thank you 🙂
I did watch the video… I should have clarified… I need foundation kind of stuff! so thus the shade question 🙂 I am a bit weirded out about going into those places and asking for help though.
Edit: (I did watch the video and IT WAS SUPER HELPFUL… I understand now. that stuff looks amazing!)
