The River

Marina Del Ray

In the coming months, I am going to talk a lot about “The River“.  Before I lose everyone, here is the run down.

Kevin’s grandparents bought this little fishing shack on the inner banks of the NC coast back in the day.  His dad’s family grew up spending summers there. Building piers, picking grapes and endangering their lives with water sports.  Now the entire extended family has multiple houses, piers, boats and fun all along the Pungo river.  It is a family reunion…every weekend.

BOOM

I was brought to the River while K and I were dating.  I passed the test.  I can now ski, clean fish, use a cast net, crab and dig for treasure.  I clearly won the marriage lottery by getting such an awesome vacation spot.  That’s right…I spend most every weekend there…with family.  Some say I am crazy…but they are the ones who can’t find babysitters 🙂

We stay at the same house.  It has been expanded over the years. We now have a fenced yard for the doggies, a snazzy new pier, new water toys and more family members!  Landon will need to swim like a fish and look fashionable in Jelly Pants. Get ready for the Mann family summer adventures!

So jealous. We have a lot of lakes in Oklahoma and I grew up going to lake houses with friends. Luckily I married somehow who loves beig out on the lake and camping. We have a goal to have a boat when we’re done having kids and they are all old enough to be lake rats. Still many years away, but hopefully someday a dream come true.

Yeah it is pretty awesome. We bought our jetski before Landon. All the other toys are in laws but we can use whenever. I also get spoiled that they usually always make us dinner when we are down there. Going costs us gas and maybe some extra food we take. I think it is how we save money honestly.
